EMAILER MESSAGES – JUNE 15, 2019

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR NEW BOARD MEMBERS

I WOULD LIKE TO WISH ALL THE WINNERS OF OUR RECENT BOARD ELECTION  (RENEE COMACK, STEVE FARRON, ALTON KINSEY), ALL THE BEST IN THE COMING YEARS.  WE ALL APPRECIATE THE TIME AND ENERGY THAT NEEDS TO GO INTO BEING A BOARD MEMBER.  I THOUGHT MY BEING AN EMAILER WAS HARD ENOUGH BUT BEING A BOARD MEMBER, WELL THIS FAR EXCEEDS WHAT I DO.

COMCAST AND THEIR ADDED FEES

Well, I did as much as I can to try to get Comcast to take off the Broadcast fees and the Sports fees but of course they did nothing.  Yet in some other States, where they were taken to court, these States won and the fees were eliminated.

I guess we live in a State where all of our politicians just think about adding more taxes to our already overtaxed properties.  All our State had to do is to take Comcast to court and just present what other States won in their courts.  Yet our State sits back and does nothing and we just keep paying for services that we shouldn’t be paying for.

REMEMBER ONE THING – ABOUT TWO MONTHS PRIOR TO OUR CONTRACTS EXPIRING FIND ANOTHER COMPANY.  OTHERWISE, AS STATED IN THEIR HANDOUTS, JUST MY SUPER TRIPLE PLAY WHICH IS $149 WILL GO UP TO $200 A MONTH STARTING THE DAY AFTER MY CONTRACT EXPIRES.  THIS IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN TO ME EVEN IF I BUY A RABBIT AND PUT LARGER EARS ON THE RABBIT AND NOW I HAVE A LIVE RABBIT ANTENNA. TO WATCH TV.

GOLF – AT LEAST I HAVE SOMEONE INTERESTED IN HOW I PLAY GOLF

Playing golf at Rutgers with the same guys every Tuesday, well they don’t appreciate my excellence in the game.  Sure, I don’t follow the rules, like moving a ball from the woods to the Fairway.  My rule is called the INTENTION RULE.  My INTENTION was to hit the ball on the Fairway.  So I just move it.

Getting in a sandtrap.  Well I didn’t bring my pail and shovel so I put it again on the Fairway.

Hitting the ball into the water.  I didn’t come to a golf course thinking I was going to go swimming, so my ball gets put on the Fairway.

A good friend of mine is always watching me every week.  He loves me and I love him and he just follows my game.  Sometimes when I hit a nice shot he jumps for joy.  I promised him if he smiles I will take a picture and send it out to my community.

REGENCY DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT

The next meeting of the Regency Digital Photography Club will be held on Thursday, June 20 at 4:00 PM in the Tennis Pavilion.  Our subject for this meeting will be examining the important factors in “Macro” Photography or “getting in close”.  Amazingly, this can be done with a zoom lens or cell phone camera, even though a special lens is best.  We will look at some on-line articles and you tubes on the subject to build your understanding.  We will be heading out later on a field trip to make some outdoor macro shots.  The plan is to examine those or others you have taken for the art wall and a spot in your home. All residents are invited.  Only $10 to join for the year.
Expand your horizons in photography.

WASPS IN YOUR FIREPLACE EXHAUST

I had an interesting email from a resident.  She found that the exhaust that leads to the outside of her home from the fireplace had wasps in it.  Did anyone else have this problem and what did you do to have it corrected?

FIRST ENERGY LETTER TO OUR HOMES

(NOTE:  JUST FOUND OUT THAT JCP&L IS A SUBSIDIARY OF FIRST ENERGY.  FIRST ENERGY IS THE PARENT COMPANY.  ALSO, CHECK WITH YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY TO SEE IF THIS IS COVERED)

I received many calls and emails dealing with the letter that was sent to us by FIRST ENERGY  about our electric lines.  I agree with everyone I have spoken.  Paying for problems with our electric lines outside our homes is just going too far.  We recently were told that the water lines outside of our homes, if they should break, we are responsible.  So many residents and I had taken out an insurance policy dealing with water breaks outside our home.  Yet are we covered for water breaks under our foundation?  This has happened, to my knowledge, twice.

As we all know, FIRST ENERGY, is not our Electric Company,  We all use JCP&L and they claim that problems with an electric line outside our home is not covered.

Someone mentioned that our Board will be looking into this.  I hope they would let us know what the answer is and whether we have to find a company that would take care of our electric lines outside our homes.  While they are at it, what about our gas lines? Honestly, I lived in my previous home for over 30 years and I did have one problem with an outside (under my front lawn) electric line.  A water pipe sitting on top of the electric line finally caused the electric line to do some strange things in my home.  For example, I flip on the switch to open the lights in my kitchen and one of my electrical appliances starts to work.  Switches were turning on everything else but what it was supposed to turn on. There was an answer and the power line coming into my home had to be fixed.  I think I had to pay for it (not sure).

So do we do what we did with the water lines and get ourselves insured?  Frankly I personally would not have anything but our water lines insured since I know that these water lines have given many homes a problem.  Yet, we do have homes that have had problems with water lines under their foundations.  Are we covered?  I don’t think so but maybe I should check with my insurance company.  I’m hoping our HOA has some answers.

NOTE ABOUT MY SATURDAY EMAILS

FOR WHATEVER REASONS, SOMETIMES RESIDENTS DON’T RECEIVE MY SATURDAY EMAILS.  WHEN THIS HAPPENS, PLEASE LET ME KNOW

RPOST@MONMOUTH.COM

REMEMBER, YOU CAN ALWAYS VIEW MY CURRENT EMAIL BY GOING TO:

(Some of my “golf buddies” made fun of this email because they said how would someone know to do this if they didn’t receive this email.  Well, if you do receive my emails and read this and then 2 weeks later you stopped receiving my emails, hopefully you will remember this email.  I think they were having a “senior golf moment” which is like saying did I shoot a 4, 5, or 6 on this hole.  I bet they select 4.)

STUVESANT HS REUNION

 Dear Peg Legs,
I have been designated as the Class of 1964 class marshal, to be the main point of contact for our 55th reunion., Bob Schiffer, Barry Ancona, Howard Rotterdam, Mark Saidens, and Roger Levine will be helping me.
The Alumni Association (https://www.stuyalumni.org/events) has decided Saturday, June 22 will be the “official” reunion day for all classes. They also will have a Fall reunion day, but haven’t told us when this will be.
This Reunion will include an event at the new school (345 Chambers Street) with both general alumni programming and class-specific programming and class specific events organized around the 5-year intervals (e.g., classes of ’64, ’69, etc.)
We are more than welcome to have our Class of ’64 events whenever we want.
So, very shortly, we will be sending you a survey to assess interest in potential dates and activities and to help plan a reunion that best meets our desires. Stay tuned.
We are concerned that our email list is outdated. If you have email addresses for other members of our class, please send them to me. Same request if you have a more preferred email address.
Thanks!
