MY POLLING LAST WEEK REGARDING THE GATEHOUSE

Thank you for all the nice emails I received regarding my new addition to emailing – POLLING.  I was amazed that within the first half hour over 100 residents responded.

From what I have heard, Option 3, which was number 1 on my poll and was also number 1 on the HOA poll.  Keep in mind that my poll is not “official”.  I have to deal with the fact that each home only has one vote.  My list gives possibly two votes for certain homes that I have the husband and wife on my list.

So, I need your help.  I will begin developing a Primary list which will be used for Polling that only has one email address per home.  I also have to add email addresses for homes that aren’t currently getting my emails.

Alan Briskin, who has in the past, helped me with sorting our current telephone list by street and number is working on this sort since for whatever reason, the sort finds some streets mixed with other streets.

Once this sort is done and I have all the names, addresses sorted by streets, I will figure out how to get residents on these streets to fill in their email addresses and to select what their PRIMARY email address will be just for POLLING.

With our new Board, I am hoping that we could work together in developing a better way of dealing with resident communications.  Yes, if the Board wishes to utilize my website in order to better  communications, I will be glad to assist (at no cost to homeowners).  I will never charge for what I do.

HERE ARE THE RESULTS OF THE POLL REGARDING THE GATEHOUSE

Votes 516
Now let’s start learning from residents what is missing from both my poll and the HOA Board Poll.  Residents asked me the following questions and some of the answers to these questions might make residents vote differently.
1. WHAT IS THE COST FOR EACH DESIGN?
2. WHO IS PAYING FOR THE NEW GATEHOUSE?
3.  DOES IT HAVE AC AND A BATHROOM?
4.  WILL THE OVERHANG ACCOMMODATE  ALL     SIZES OF TRUCKS? (HEIGHT)
5.  HOW MUCH DID OUR INSURANCE COVER?
6.  “STUFFING THE MAILBOX IN THE CLUBHOUSE”.  EVEN THOUGH ONLY ONE VOTE PER HOUSE, SOME RESIDENT SAW ANOTHER RESIDENT PUT 3 OR 4 CARDS IN THE BOX IN THE CLUBHOUSE.  WHO’S ADDRESS DID THEY USE?  EMAILING, WOULD PREVENT THIS (I WILL EVENTUALLY HAVE ONE PRIMARY VOTE PER HOME)

NEED HELP FROM MEMBERS OF THE ITALIAN AMERICAN CLUB

I probably have hundreds of beautiful pictures of those of you who attended some of the early Italian American Programs.
What I would like are volunteers who would receive 10 photos each so that you can let me know who these residents are.  Depending upon the volunteers, I might have to repeat this process several times.
Just send me an email rpost@monmouth.com if you would like to participate in NAMING THE RESIDENTS.
On my main page if you scroll across where you see HOME, you will also see NAMES AND FACES.  See if you have been added.  If not, send me a picture.

NEW TELEPHONE DIRECTORY – EXCEL/PDF

On the right hand side of this page you will see CLICK A LINK.  Just under this will be our most current telephone directory’s which, if you use Excel, there are two Excel files and two PDF files.

Once again I want to thank Alan Briskin who has helped me in the past sorting the lists.  Unfortunately Alan had a lot of work to do because of problems in the Master list from the HOA.  There were spaces before some columns and streets were not spelled correctly.

I think what residents would enjoy is seeing who lives on your street.  Besides the lists being alphabetized by last name, they are also alphabetized by street name with ascending addresses.

I will use these lists in developing a more complete email address list.  The only way it can be done is with your help.  I will eventually let you know what needs to be done.

IMPORTANT TOWN COUNCIL MEETING – PLEASE ATTEND

The Town Council meeting will be held on July 5th at 7:00PM in the Municipal Bldg?

Steve Riback will be going and he will bring up the subject of Mounts Mills Rd.
He could use your support.

Here is Steve's letter that he wrote to thecommunity.

Dear Neighbors,
Please allow me to begin by saying that I am not writing as a Bd. of Education member, but rather as a private citizen; nor is what I am saying necessarily a reflection of the Bd. of Education’s views.

It’s been a while since I’ve written, but a topic has come up that I believe I need your help with. As many of you know, before being elected to the Bd. of Ed, I was quite involved in opposing the developments we are seeing all around us.

The state laws, unfortunately, favor the developers. Have you ever driven on Mounts Mills Rd. going toward Englishtown Rd.on a weekend? Getting onto Enlishtown Rd is a near impossibility which backs up traffic on Mounts Mills and, in my opinion, is an accident waiting to happen. There is no light there and that stop sign just can’t control the flow of traffic. To make matters worse, the developer is, if my memory serves me correctly, only widening the shoulder on Mounts Mills. I complained about this when those plans were initially presented to the town. If there is going to be an entrance to Monroe Parke on Mounts Mills Rd, then that road should be widened and have a dedicated lane for turning into the development. Not doing so would back up traffic further.

I intend to bring this matter to the town council on Wednesday, July 5th at 7:00 PM in the Municipal Building. If you agree with me, please join me as a large number of residents gets noticed and quite often results.

Hope to see you there,
Steve Riback

SOL LURIE, A HOLOCAUST SURVIVOR

July 17, 2017 at 7pm in the Regency Club House Ballroom

OPEN TO EVERYONE!

Sol Lurie, a Holocaust survivor and member of the Monroe Ricklis group, who endured no less than 6 concentration camps shares his message of hope, forgiveness and survival. Crammed inside of a dark room with other Jewish prisoners, at the age of 14, Sol Lurie did not know he was about to be murdered by the Nazis in the gas chambers during the Holocaust.  More than 70 years later, Lurie can only describe what occurred next as a miracle.  Sol Lurie will offer us not just a night of remembering, but a night of learning what strength and solidarity our people had despite the difficulties and challenges endured and that there is still a way to come out of something like he did with love and respect for all people. Mr. Lurie views his story as a vehicle to show others the tragedies of discrimination and why mankind should avoid it.  Something to think about in an age of fear of terrorism throughout the world.

Refreshments to be served.  Open to all.  RSVP to Genia Beeferman at genhow181@gmail.com or call 732-656-4525 or Leslie Kohn at holekow@gmail.com or call 732-656-1412.  (Call either number between 9AM and 9PM please).  We must have RSVPs in advance so that we can plan for the appropriate amount of seating!!!!

A “STRONG” LETTER FROM A RESIDENT REGARDING DRIVING IN REGENCY

This morning while driving along Country Club Drive toward Arnold Palmer Drive and our main exit, I saw a car rushing down Arnold Palmer Drive, blow right through the STOP sign at the corner, turn right and continue on.  I had had enough.

I have seen this happen more times than I can remember.  For those of you who make a habit of blowing through that STOP sign and any others in our community, your complete disregard for the safety of others is appalling.  Your recklessness is endangering other drivers, bicyclists, walkers, runners, golfers, and others. Where does your lack of courtesy and respect for others come from?  What makes you so special that allows you to disregard the simple etiquette of coming to a STOP at a STOP sign. Do you carry a card that permits you to violate a simple rule that allows us all to be a little bit safer in our own community? You can come to that corner 99 times and look quickly and see no cars and proceed through with no harm done.  However, on that hundredth time, you will look, be so used to seeing an empty roadway that your brain doesn’t even register that there is something or someone approaching, and you will continue through the sign, with unfortunate consequences.

STOP means just that –  STOP. It doesn’t mean YIELD. It doesn’t mean “If you don’t see anything, just keep going”. It means STOP. Please change your habits before something catastrophic happens.  Next time you come to one of our STOP signs, think and just STOP.  The extra few seconds it will take you can’t be worth your irresponsible behavior and your putting your friends, neighbors and maybe relatives in danger.

(EMAILER’S NOTE:  MY HOME IS ON THE CORNER OF HOGAN AND CRENSHAW AND MY OFFICE FACES THE STOP SIGN.  YES, MANY TIMES PEOPLE DON’T STOP AND MANY TIMES IT ISN’T JUST RESIDENTS BUT VENDORS WHO WORK HERE IN REGENCY)
