GoDADDY AND MAILCHIMP
Finally, after reviewing the stats from the past weekends, I will be emailing using GoDaddy and Mailchimp. The HOA EMAILER will no longer be used.
Mailchimp is free but it has it’s limitations
With GoDaddy, I pay for a plan that should be okay with the number of email addresses they give me (2500) and currently I have 1380 email addresses on file. They also allow me to send out 25,000 emails per month under the plan I took out. So just with GoDaddy I could send out about 18 emails per month and this should be okay. What is good is that I can now add friends from other adult communities, keep residents who have moved on my emails, if they desire plus other things which my HOA EMAILER limited me too.

A MESSAGE TO VETERANS FROM A RESIDENT
Just two items that might be of interest for veterans
1-I hope you all know that if you qualify for the VA system drugs (& some other med issues) are dirt cheap.
2-Even if you don’t qualify for the VA ANY honorably discharged vet can now avail themselves of the PX system.
Registering can at times be difficult, but as my Grandmother used to say “if it’s free take two”.
The address to start the process is “shopmyexchange.com”
Good Luck

MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE DRYER VENT PIPE
(EMAILER’S NOTE: WHAT THE RESIDENT SAID ABOUT THE RUBBER GASKET AROUND THE DRYER VENT PIPE ON THE ROOF IS TRUE. MANY RESIDENTS HAD TO HAVE IT CHANGED)
The dryer vent is ONLY exhausted thru the side of the house when the washer/dryer is on an outside wall or in the basement of the house. When the washer/dryer is in a laundry room on a inside wall then it is exhausted thru the roof ONLY.
You might want to remind homeowners that ALL the vent pipes coming up thru the roof have a rubber collar around them This inhibits water leakage. After several years of our changing weather (hot to cold) the rubber collars dry up, crack and water can then leak into the attic and then the house
The homeowner who reported the mishap, should have had the roofer check all the rubber collars if the house is not new.
TELL US ABOUT SOME HUMOROUS THINGS THAT HAVE HAPPENED TO YOU
Emailing, as you can tell, is getting to be boring at times. We need some laughter and over our lifetimes, many things probably happened to us that we still laugh about. I will start it off but I hope others would send me their “humorous” stories.
Okay, what happened to Greta and I, happened MANY years ago. We went to Las Vegas with friends of ours and after we checked in we were told that our elevators to our rooms were in the back of the hotel. So we got there and as soon as we arrived, about 6 men in black suits started to walk in through the back doors. I really thought this was going to be the end of our vacation. Walking in with them was a man in a light brown suit. He was about 2 feet away from Greta and all Greta could say was, “YOU ARE? YOU ARE?” and finally he said, “YES, I AM PRESIDENT FORD”. (The current President at that time) Goes to show you how political Greta was in those days. We just laughed and laughed and of course, they took the elevator and we couldn’t ride with them.
Next was something I wrote in one of my very early emails. My friend, Stu Finger, who has moved from Regency, tells this story to anyone he meets.
I stated in my email, if Stu Finger’s brother was Brad Pitt, do you know what Stu would be called, yes “STU PITT” Say that a few times and out comes STUPID.
Now it is your turn.
ORGANIC MILK VS REGULAR MILK
What’s the difference? Well all my life I have always been a milk drinker (no coffee). To some degree, I guess I can be an expert on Milk (besides emailing).
My wife recently purchased a quart of organic milk and I noticed that the expiration date was over a month. How many of us when we take the milk out of the refrigerator give it the smell test? Yes, keeping regular milk past the expiration date, you will get an odor. How many half containers of milk have we all thrown out based on the smell test? Plenty!
So is it cheaper in the long run to pay more for organic milk, than regular milk? In my case, YES, organic milk would be less expensive since I throw away a lot of regular milk that spoils quickly. Some say, regular milk has a better taste. My answer, it has the same taste as Organic milk.
So let me know if you are an organic milk drinker if you find this milk to last longer and have the same taste as regular milk.
What makes milk organic? Well from various scientific sources, the milk that comes from cows is all the same except, certain cows are treated better. They eat better foods and are not given any chemicals or antibiotics. Once the milk comes from these cows, pasteurization is a little different. I believe they heat the milk at a little higher temperature for a short time. Some say this takes away from the taste. I say, it really doesn’t.
Okay, off the milk and onto Orange Juice. Yes, all my life I have been an Orange Juice drinker. Most of my life it has been Tropicanna. However, one day SIMPLY ORANGE was ordered and it had a pretty good taste. What I have found is that Tropicanna’s taste changes the longer you have it but Simply Orange doesn’t, so it lasts longer and has the same taste as if you opened it on day 1.
